I don’t know if the world will care, but a real catastrophe is unfolding in Gaza right now. The heat is unbearable, and the tents have turned into ovens. The sun burns through the fabric, scorching the skin and stealing every breath.
Rats and insects swarm out of the ground like armies. They invade the tents and bite the bodies of children and infants. Hospitals receive dozens of cases daily due to bites and infections. Water is scarce, sewage flows between the tents, garbage is piled up everywhere, the stench is suffocating, and diseases are spreading rapidly. No electricity, no fans, no cooling.
You sit with your family inside a literal oven. Our children’s faces and bodies are covered in burns and insect bites. We haven’t even entered summer yet what will happen in a month? The whole world cannot bring even one caravan to us, and these tents have become the filthiest place a human can live in.
Our children are melting before our eyes, and infants cry in pain. Our families are dying slowly under the sun, the filth, and the hunger. Move. Speak. Share. Pressure them. Don’t stop. If the world remains silent today, tomorrow no one will be left to hear our screams.
