RT @Englishremnant: I love Scotland: the scenery, the history, and the people. What I do find cringeworthy is the SNP crowd who talk as if…

The ban on social media for children under 16 is an idea that has merits. But the way it is being done is simply a way to force everyone, including adults, to identify themselves online, creating the most powerful surveillance and censorship architecture in human history.

"I'm sorry that they removed your breasts and permanently changed your voice. I clearly don't really understand the issue, but I strongly disagree with your attempts to protect vulnerable children. Even though I can't articulate why, I just feel it in my being that it's right to mutilate and sterilise vulnerable young girls. Please don't make me acknowledge what this is." Manipulative. Reproductive. Suppression. "I'm so sorry that your child's life was destroyed after they got vaccinated. I don't really understand any of the relevant medical evidence or arguments, but I strongly disagree with your attempts to protect vulnerable children. Even though I can't clearly articulate why, every time a parent tells me how vaccines destroyed their precious child, I just feel this urgency to force parents to vaccinate every single child. Please don't make me acknowledge what this is." Manipulative. Reproductive. Suppression.

Unforgettable night with the Tartan Army at Fenway Park in Boston. Spoke to police officers, bar staff, security merch sellers who said they'd never seen a set of fans like it 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Some videos of the good-natured mayhem here 👇

I don’t like the C word but I’m tempted to make an exception for this absolute Cxxx of a man. If someone battered him or one of his own with a sledgehammer and fractured their spine how would he react. Another waster who’s never done a proper day’s work. Him and his ilk have shifted the Overton window in a way I’d have once thought impossible.
Sentenced and imprisoned on grounds of “terrorism” that no jury ever convicted them of. Meanwhile, the British government continues to aid and abet the greatest crime of our time. A historic miscarriage of justice — and a truly dark day for civil liberties in this country.

Every single time the Celtic support behave like animals, the cycle is identical, create a toxic atmosphere — then immediately scream “victimisation and sectarianism” when people criticise it. No accountability, no shame, just an endless persecution complex.
People all over the UK losing their minds over a Scottish Club winning their 14th title in 15 seasons...it couldn't possibly be that the club that was formed by Irish Catholic immigrants to feed the poor and destitute of Glasgow's East End is their problem....surely not....?

Sorry, why am I supposed to be uniquely horrified by a masked demonstration in Glasgow which is - at the moment, exclusively - peaceful? Why am I supposed to have tolerated braying crowds of Gaza demonstrators - making Buchanan St unnavigable every weekend - but not this?

I need the government to lock up criminals, defend the nation, build infrastructure, collect the bins, and a few other services - basic research etc. I’m not an anarchist or anything. What I don’t need from the government is moral instruction. I don’t need them to tell me how to raise my kids. I don’t need them to nudge me into better dietary choices. I certainly don’t need them hamfistedly backdooring my devices to check I’m not doing anything they don’t like. GTFO of my life, thank you. You’re not smarter than me, you aren’t qualified to manage me, please leave me alone.

359 civil servants. Currently working from Greek and Spanish holiday resorts. 140 of them from Ed Miliband’s department. The same department whose minister said “further slippage is not acceptable.” Meanwhile ordinary British families are skipping holidays this summer because they can’t afford them. This is not flexible working. This is one rule for them. Another for everyone else.

The same Lewis Hamilton who used a corporate leasing structure to save money on taxes (around £3.3 million in VAT) when acquiring his Bombardier Challenger 605 private jet in 2013? The same Lewis Hamilton who bought the £16.5 million jet through his British Virgin Islands company (Stealth Aviation Ltd) and who then set up an Isle of Man leasing company (Stealth (IOM) Ltd, to import it into the EU and sub-leased it to a UK jet management firm (TAG Aviation), which in turn provided it back to Hamilton and his Guernsey company under charter agreements? *That* Lewis Hamilton?

Lewis Hamilton says there should be a limit to how much wealth one person can have "One of the things that I struggle with every day is that there is such a disparity between the wealthy and the poor” "When you drive around LA there's still so many people living on the streets. You shouldn't be able to have billions" "I think there should be a limit to how much you can have because there's enough to go around for everyone”
Community note
In order to avoid tax, Lewis Hamilton lives in Monaco and Switzerland. He also used a corporate leasing structure to save over £3 million in taxes when buying his £16 million private jet in 2013. x.com/exRAF_Al/statu…

Interestingly, many people (correctly) pointing out that Yes Scotland and the SNP had to be legally completely independent, to comply with Electoral Commission rules. @Ross_Greer might regret revealing the CEO of the SNP organised a pay rise for him at Yes Scotland…

Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy. One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what?? The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you. Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!

Scotland should be granted an ANOTHER election and the last one voided. The SNP have conspired with the Crown office to hold back the Murrell revelations until AFTER the election AND to lessen the impact on Sturgeon. Criminals have hijacked Scotland.

It’s a bit rich being told to move on from the Peter Murrell scandal by independence supporters who constantly bang on about the 1707 Acts of Union and the 1689 Claim of Right.
