Today, we hosted a delegation from the #Zambia Statistics Agency @zamstats for a knowledge-sharing visit focused on strengthening official statistics, data governance, and digital innovation. Discussions covered NISR’s role in #Rwanda’s administrative data systems, the country’s data governance journey, including data-sharing policies, guidelines, and data protection laws, and the alignment of statistical production with key development frameworks such as NST-2, Vision 2050, the SDGs, EAC Vision 2050, and AU Agenda 2063. This exchange underscores the importance of regional collaboration in strengthening statistical systems, advancing evidence-based policymaking, and driving data-driven development across Africa. #SouthSouthCooperation

🚨We are visiting statistical clubs in different secondary schools across the country, through the “Reading Data with Children” program. This initiative aims to strengthen statistical literacy, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making among students by helping them better understand graphs, statistics, and trends. It also empowers young people to identify misinformation and use data to solve real-life community challenges. #RwandaStatistics

We are working closely with several partners to address the challenge of low death registration. We started an innovative idea, the e-Death Registration system. Currently in its initial phase, this system enables trained abakuru b’imidugudu & other local leaders to register deaths occurring within communities using USSD technology. We thank @RBCRwanda, @RwandaHealth, and @RwandaLocalGov for their continued support in this important initiative. Together, we remain committed to achieving this 80% target.
