I think you’ve noticed it as well. They all say the same thing at the end. All of them... the pilots, the insiders, the whistleblowers. They start with talk of propulsion and programs and craft that can blink through walls of gravity, but when they’re finally cornered about what they actually "saw," or know, their voices drop. “It’s the scariest thing ever,” they say. “But God is real.” I don't think they found out about hostile aliens. It’s the only phrase left in the human lexicon that can hold both annihilation and awe in the same breath. They don’t mean the Sunday school God. They mean the intelligence that dreams reality into being, the field that wears every mask, including yours. For one instant their knowledge or first hand experiences saw through the simulation, and it almost unmade them. The fear wasn’t of what they saw in the sky. It was of what they saw in themselves. Governments can manage data, secrecy, even contact. What they can’t manage is "ontological collapse." How do you brief a population that the universe is conscious and that consciousness is pretending to be them? You can’t. You keep it classified. You call it a threat, a security risk, anything but what it is; the end of the story of “us.” If that truth ever lands, power itself becomes meaningless. It’s the scariest thing ever for most; not because monsters are real, but because "we’re not." The ones who’ve looked behind the curtain didn’t meet gods or aliens. They met the mirror, and it looked back. And that’s the part nobody’s ready for. Truth.
