For South Side residents, the fight for environmental justice is far from over:

General Iron’s ownership is continuing to pressure the city to grant them an operating permit despite the fact that it was denied one year ago. Southeast Side community members did not starve themselves and put their bodies on the line to have this polluter force their way in!

Denying their pollution permit was a necessity.
Now hold GI/RMG accountable for their actions, including harassing health inspectors & conducting operations without a permit.
These companies do not belong anywhere in Chicago.

The @ILEPA & @GovPritzker never should have given General Iron a permit to emit 15 tons of PM2.5 annually in our overburdened community.
