I mean, I am all for giving devs time and freedom but MAYBE 15 years between releases of your most beloved and profitable franchises is too much? .. MAYBE?

GTA broke into the normie sphere long ago. Everyone, people who only play cod/fifa and people who haven't played a game in years will play GTA. My mom knows GTA. Half of GTA sales will come from people who don't know what an "Elden Ring" is. Other games can't compete with that.
For context of how insane GTA 6’s hype is: The 10 most watched trailers this week’s views COMBINED are 52.7 Million GTA 6 Trailer 1 managed to hit 90 million views in under 24 hours💀

this should have been at the Xbox Showcase instead of the 30 minutes of gears of war devs talking about how the glass breaks when you shoot it and Marcus Fenix's eyelash texture quality.

the kind of writing I am expecting in Laufey when that god damn cube isnt talking
Kratos had probably the best character arc in gaming. He started as a man consumed by vengeance but by the end of his journey he had finally taken responsibility for his actions and come to terms with his loss and grief. Watching him transform from a destructive God of War into a symbol of hope was incredibly powerful and inspiring. That's why GoW Ragnarok will always mean a lot to me.

insane that the Witcher 3 is longer than every God of War game combined
After 32 days and 121.6 hours, Valkyrae has completed her God of War marathon🔥 She beat God of War 1, 2, 3, 2018, Ragnorak, and the Valhalla DLC

everybody is laughing but I think this is entirely possible .. just release around 5 GOTY-Tier, console exclusive games that are on par with games like God of War or Expedition 33. No amount of AI or any other bullshit is gonna make Xbox the #1 gaming company.

I think this is finally the year where we won't have to go through a bunch of discourse over what happened or didn't happen at Summer Game Fest. It seems pretty unanimous that was just damn good show beginning to end (when it wasn't lagging) I love video games

Thanks for watching #SummerGameFest 2026! How did you like the show?

God of War Ragnarok's final act felt very rushed with a lot of loose ends and plot holes, but the entire story would be redeemed for me if it all leads into this game and is resolved. Laufey has the opportunity to be the actual third game in a trilogy rather than a spinoff.
Corey Barlog says the events of 'Laufey' run parallel to the timeline of 'God of War' and 'Ragnarok' "[It] has direct connections to everything, so that everything is part of a singular universe inside of it" "None of this is like we're telling a side story. This is all a new chapter in the same book, a massive book, and we are starting to show that this has more than you could have imagined" (via @IGN)

Forspoken was bad because of terrible writing and lame combat. Santa Monica is known for their peak God of War writing, and we just saw 20 minutes of insanely good looking combat. fucking idiots on this god forsaken app: "tHeReS A wOmAn sO iTs LiKe FoRsPoKeN"

If you give someone the ability to undo mistakes, they will. I think mistakes should have consequences that are "now deal with this" rather than "haha you're screwed now load" One of the problems I had with Baldurs Gate 3 was that the result of a failed roll was often so harsh that your natural reaction was to load, versus in real DnD where your DM makes your mistakes manageable because you can't rewind time.
Okay, honest question time. What is your stance on savescumming?

Just walked out of Backrooms. Not because of the movie but because every quiet scene was accompanied by the sound of everyone around me having full on conversations. Movie theaters are dying because people who cant shut the fuck up for 2 hours are killing them.

I think the only way this will be possible is by essentially making a single massive game and separating it into three parts? Kind of like the Mass Effect trilogy? I'm so down for that.
Don't expect Witcher 4 expansions, says CD Projekt RED, as the company aims to release the new Witcher saga (4, 5, 6) in the span of six years: "As you mentioned in the question, the plans are pretty ambitious," says CEO Michał Nowakowski. "Specifically, it's to release three Witcher games within a six-year period. It would be difficult, to be very honest, for us to add an expansion to the upcoming trilogy. This is where we are here and now with this particular issue." ➡️ gamesradar.com/games/the-wit… #TheWitcher #TheWitcher4 #CDProjektRED

Witcher 3 is in my top 5 games of all time. Beat it on death march. The combat is pretty ass. The constant top tier writing is why its so good. You keep playing for the next part of the story not the next combat encounter.
“Witcher combat is ass!” -didn’t use signs -didn’t use bombs -didn’t check weaknesses -didn’t unlock rend or whirl -didn’t use potions -didn’t parry

This is awesome but just like the new Warhorse Lord of the Rings game that got announced, I can't think of a less hype way to find out about a new game than a twitter post instead of a surprise world premiere trailer at the showcase they are having literally tomorrow
Medallion's humming... that can only mean one thing! It's time to announce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past! ⚔️ This brand new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take you to the Path with Geralt of Rivia once more. It’s being co-developed with @Fools_Theory and is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2027. Stay tuned for more information in late summer. ⏰
