Ret. Superintendent of Buttonwillow School District-Former President of Small School Districts' Assoc. for CA-Currently consulting at Education Market Experts
Great conference put on by @txrea They do a great job of showing and highlighting the strengths and successes of rural schools throughout Texas. Thanks for letting both myself and Education Market Experts be a part of the conference.
I retired one year ago after 35 years in education. This past week I received a message from a student I had 34 years ago. Her son is in 6th grade. She hopes her son's 6th grade is as good as hers. You may never know your impact, then it may take 34 years. Respect our educators.
To all the teachers who have helped shape our lives, been there for us in tough times, inspired us to reach our highest potential: We're so grateful, this week & every week, for all you do to help your students succeed.

Honored to have attended the groundbreaking of @ButtonwillowUSD 's Early Ed & Resource Center. 7 of my last 12 years as supt was spent aligning finances & early ed planning. TY to the school board & Supt @Admmom for great leadership. @RepDavidValadao@ACSARegion_11@ACSA_info
Further evidence that states need to focus as much on small and/or rural as they do on urban. All kids matter.

Great to be in Chattanooga repping Education Market Experts. It is always nice to hear the inspirational comments, and then spend some time with @Joe_Sanfelippo. His thoughts and ideas inspired many of the positive changes @ButtonwillowUSD .
Headed to Chattanooga to spend time with leaders, educators, and partners that focus on rural education. Proud to be part of the Education Innovation Experts team.
Wonderful opportunity to be attending the California City Schools Superintendent Conference in Burlingame. Great presentation on AI and use in schools. Nice to be repping Education Market Experts.
Thank you Tom O' Malley for being an incredible leader that focuses on kids first. There's a hidden crisis among California's rural kids. Would this teen make it? latimes.com/california/story…
Headed to Flagstaff, AZ to represent Education Market Experts at the annual Arizona Rural Schools Conference. Looking forward to connecting with associations, "edupreneurs", and other educators who care about our schools in rural areas.
Thank you @davidarencibia and @JulieBoesch for putting on a great kickoff to our mentoring program. Great way to get the @SmallSchoolDA conference started in Newport. I'm just glad an electric pump showed up.😁😁
An absolute honor to stand alongside these extraordinary leaders of leaders! Grateful for the invaluable time spent fostering connections and cultivating a positive culture. Huge thanks to @JulieBoesch, @CCEECA@SmallSchoolDA for making this experience possible! #CultureMatters🙌
Today was my last board meeting. A short one to approve our budget & LCAP. Our LCAP was presented at Monday's board meeting. A pleasure to hand the new @ButtonwillowUSD Superintendent her name plate, and take mine home. @AdmmomH will be awesome. @SmallSchoolDA@ACSARegion_11
Encroachment continues in the outgoing Superintendent's Office. @AdmmomH last used a decorating app for furniture just before graduation. Today, 90 minutes before my last scheduled board meeting, she brings in her first plant. My office is down to a box and a computer @TimSSDA
Hard to imagine that with all the crazy things we must provide that providing a basic need like water doesn't seem important to our state. A fundraiser to make it so kids can have water? It makes no sense! @nrea1
Small school districts are vital to families and communities - as a system we must provide resources that support serving students and meeting basic needs - access to clean water is a basic need for ALL students! @SmallSchoolDA ksbw.com/article/salinas-ele…
Hey wait a sec! 75 minutes before graduation the new superintendent walks from her office to mine and uses an app to see how her new sofa will look. I feel like the Jaws Theme, ba dump ba dump. @AdmmomH Great graduation though. @TimSSDA
That feeling when I see a student who was in my intervention group and was an English Learner 10 years ago. Now learning Portuguese as a third language, then Arabic as a fourth because she wants to attend the University of Chicago to study International Relations/Business.
It has been a great couple of weeks as my tenure as Superintendent concludes. Surprised by receiving a plaque that stated what our school and community have accomplished together. @RepDavidValadao was kind enough to have read the information into The Congressional Record.
Congratulations to Mr. Stuart Packard on his congressional recognition from US Representative David Valadao for his accomplishments at Buttonwillow School over the past 12 years.
TY @MissDPayne2 for discussing the challenges and the high points of our school. You have always been valuable to our school community. TY @CalMatters for recognizing the challenges that exist are not urban only issues. These issues are rural also calmatters.org/education/k-1…
