Today our Middle School team did Relationship Mapping, a protocol from Making Caring Common(Harvard Grad School of Ed) Our goal is to make sure every child in the MS has a positive, caring relationship with an adult @XLIS_China We used dots to map.Some kids had no dots #worktodo

So true @leeannjung At @UWCSEA_East we are working hard to find alternatives for these students. We have started coaching students instead of pulling them from classes. They are valuable to our community.
Pulling students from the classroom because they have a label harms a sense of belonging (and self-efficacy). There are wonderful alternates to this approach that are research based and support belonging. We all have strengths and needs! #LeadInclusion
