"Not that it needed confirmation, but Naseeruddin Shah’s performance cements his status as India’s greatest living actor. He is transcendent as the old Sikh man, reframing the neurological war between lucidity and dementia as a chronological battle between masculinity and emotion"
Main Vaapas Aaunga is not perfect, but I fell in love with the film. A newer Imtiaz Ali, a vintage Naseer. Instant favourite.

Didn't feel #MainVaapasAaunga nearly as much as I wanted to. This story, those actors, this "subject" in the hands of Imtiaz, it's sort of nuts to not be constantly devastated and affected. But the film only happened to me in moments. (Perhaps I'm dead inside).
Loved the idea of the Diljit character being the only one who can "understand" and connect with his fading grandfather, but their scenes felt underwritten and relied too heavily on the two delightful actors alone.
Not to mention Nirvair's meandering stand up to Swades arc.
Travis Knight, director Masters Of The Universe, doesn't seem to have a meaningful comedic bone in his body. A generic, empty "mashing action figures together" lights and sounds show that's spectacularly devoid of personality
"As fundamentally solid as Raakh looks, however, there is a sense of structure and convention about it. It’s as if the series derives its cinema of grimness from a genre that already exists."

Curious to see Raakh on Prime Video considering that, thus far, Netflix has had the monopoly on the "horrid Delhi crimes" genre with Delhi Crime, Sector 36, Trial By Fire and even in non-fiction with House Of Secrets and Indian Predator.
Prime Video's #Raakh is a crime drama that, at its best, is presented as a horror narrative. But it's oddly enamoured by its (Ranga Billa-based) killers. A well-crafted show that flirts with greatness. Still wrestling with much of it. Reviewed it here

Had a spoiler-filled chat with @jimSarbh & director #RobbieGrewal about the gentle achievement of #MadeInIndiaATitanStory, those heart-winning moments, the delightful JRD Tata scenes, that insanely huggable ensemble and making us all a little happier.

When I'm in my elderly era (not long now), I too will look back at my life and have flashbacks where I picture my younger self looking like Vedang Raina.
