If I was a better writer, what would be a cool idea for a horror game is for it to be just like this. At the end there is a Job moment where God reveals He's given your civilization 500 years to repent of its evil, sending prophets warning of the coming wrath which your people killed and you realize God wasn't the evil one, your people were and they fought against every offer of mercy or repentance and you learn that His judgment was just.
