Tariffs have hurt farmers and their families, crippled our economy and made prices skyrocket. They're not only unlawful, they're harmful. And they need to stop for good.

I’ll be in Portland tomorrow with @grahamformaine to kick off his campaign to retire Susan Collins.   Let’s go win this thing.
Maine, let’s send an oyster farmer to the U.S. Senate—and kick out Susan Collins.

God’s heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies. But our Father’s heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud. God’s heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria

Last week, the president threatened to end a civilization. Now, he's attacking the Pope and posting an image of himself as Jesus. Not American. Not Christian. Not presidential.

If your argument is that Eric Swalwell shouldn’t resign because plenty of Republican predators refuse to resign, you’’re putting politics over principle. The goal is to improve democracy by demanding better leaders; not lowering the standards on both sides.

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

No child should learn on an empty stomach. That's why we worked across the aisle to deliver free breakfast and lunch for all 1.4 million public school students in Michigan, saving parents almost $1,000 a year per kid. I’m proud we got it done. Now, let's make it permanent.

America, let’s join together and pray for the families of the now six soldiers killed in attacks by Iran — including those based out of my home state, Kentucky. Let’s wrap our arms around them during this difficult time.

Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of immense proportions, I make a heartfelt appeal to all the parties involved to assume the moral responsibility of halting the spiral of violence before it becomes an unbridgeable chasm. May diplomacy regain its proper role, and may the well-being of peoples, who yearn for peaceful existence founded on justice, be upheld. And let us continue to pray for peace.

Dear @Amtrak The intercom system on Northeast Regional 107 on 2/15 from NYC to DC is so broken that we can not hear the announcements AND the noise is like what they use to keep people awake during torture. Find this train. Fix this train. Please.

✍️Hang tight, we're working on it! City Cast DC *is* looking to expand our local coverage and hire new reporters. More to come!
I subscribe to @washingtonpost for many things, including local news. I have @nytimes.com for coverage of international, art, and national news. But what about local? Will @CityCast_DC or @wcp hire these reporters if we move our subscriptions to them?
