Bertrand Russell spent 97 years fighting sloppy thinking. He saw two world wars, helped invent modern logic, and wrote 70 books trying to teach humans to reason.
His conclusion was grim... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubt."
Russell's antidote was radical skepticism. Question everything. Especially what you want to believe. Especially what makes you feel righteous.
