Next week, we will introduce legislation in Parliament establishing the National Asset Recovery and Protection Office. The Office’s primary task will be to uncover the misuse of public assets over the past twenty years, investigate corrupt practices and asset-stripping schemes, and provide legal support for the recovery of unlawfully acquired public assets.

BREAKING: Sweden is urging more EU countries to board and inspect ships suspected of being part of Russia's shadow fleet arguing that support for Ukraine must be backed by action, not just words. In a letter to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard and Civil Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin called on EU governments to take a tougher approach toward vessels which help Moscow circumvent Western sanctions. "We urge other EU countries to live up to the beautiful words delivered in meetings and interviews about standing up for Ukraine. They must also do so in action," Stenergard said. Asked whether other countries should begin boarding such vessels, she replied: "Start boarding in accordance with international law." Swedish authorities have boarded five suspected shadow fleet vessels since March. According to Stockholm, the operations have already had an impact, with some ships reportedly altering routes to avoid Swedish territorial waters. However, Sweden says rerouting alone is not enough and wants other European countries to inspect and take action against vessels that pass through their waters. When asked whether Sweden had received any response from its European partners, she said: "Not much response yet, but I hope that even if they don't say it publicly, they take note of this. It is actually a criticism of not doing enough, and I hope they start considering whether they should contribute to a greater extent themselves."

The Moscow Oil Refinery was hit by a major aerial attack early this morning. This strike appears significantly larger in scale compared to the one that occurred just two days ago. The facility is a critical energy asset, processing approximately 11.6 million tonnes of oil per year and serving as one of the primary fuel suppliers for Russia's capital.

Last night, our long-range sanctions once again reached the Moscow region – for the second time this week, the Moscow oil refinery was hit. Targets were also struck in the Rostov region and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This is a fully justified response to Russian attacks on our cities and communities, and another important result of our warriors’ work against facilities that sustain Russia’s war machine. I thank our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine for their coordinated efforts – the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, Defense Intelligence, and our missile brigade for their precision. In recent days, all of our partners have noted the precision and effectiveness of our mid-range strikes and long-range sanctions. It is time the war ended, and Russia must take the necessary steps in diplomacy.

Snyder: Trump is starting stupid wars — he's losing them in ways that are spectacularly obvious to the entire world.
