Today is my last day at @emblebi. I've been fortunate to have worked with many talented people so I've written a retrospective of my 9 years there to thank them for their support and highlight the main outcomes of our collaboration: linkedin.com/pulse/9-years-e…
Joining @technorasis at this week's #digitalaccessibility webinar is #UX Designer Carla Oliveira.
They'll be sharing the improvement journey as well as the lessons learnt along the way.

Lovely talk by @francisrowland of @Nexer_Digital on creating viable, usable, desirable, and sustainable scientific tools & services. Reminded me of our work together at @emblebi and acknowledged how the UXLS community of the @PistoiaAlliance fosters precompetitive collaboration.
Lovely short break in Norfolk including seals in Horsey Gap, tigers at Thrigby, horse riding in Filby, a boat trip in the Broads, adventures in Bewilderwood and afternoons on the beach.
The EMBL-EBI home page ranked in the top 5% among the one million most visited home pages in @webaim's 2022 #accessibility report. This year we expect to rank even higher, together with the very few other pages that do not have any errors.

I was delighted to present how we have been applying #uxdesign@emblebi in a webinar hosted by National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS) and @scilifelab earlier this week. Many thanks to Wolmar Nyberg Åkerström for inviting me to give this talk!

Odd week as I had a tooth extracted on Tuesday, my youngest son was ill on Wednesday and I ended up unwell myself today. But listening to @eltonofficial and watching the outrageous costumes from the early 80s made me feel like a little kid: youtu.be/ZHwVBirqD2s
1/4 Question for @cjforms & anyone else who has any insights: I understand that statements such "Hybrid working supports my work-life balance" with an agree-disagree Lickert scale as the answer lead respondents to chose "agree" in a survey (due to acquiescence bias) but...
3/4 "not at all" vs "very well" looks less understandable and fluent than the "agree" vs "disagree" answer and may not be applicable to all questions in the survey. Also...
4/4 asking "How satisfied are you with how hybrid working supports your work-life balance?" sounds even more complicated. It seems to be leading too as it implies that hybrid working does indeed support work-life balance. Any thoughts?
Beating the post-conference blues with a coffee on my new #uxls2022 mug. Many thanks to @Paula_deMatos and the @PistoiaAlliance, my colleagues in the organising committee as well as our speakers and participants for making this unique event a huge success. See you again soon!
