me and laksh got together a month ago and discussed: what are people actually asking for in an ai event?
so we went around, asked the builders and founders we already knew what they actually wanted.
people want to come and build. they want talks that actually help them improve their workflow, seeing how someone really works, not the polished version.
and they want to share, co-working, but with a big dose of showing each other what you've got. so we built frontier club.
this weekend was AI Meetup #1 in Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳 thank you to everyone who came to build, share, and learn!

Kimi 2.7 ranked 2nd after Fable 5 and before GPT-5 xhigh
We have re-run our ErdosBench smoke test on 14 problems with Kimi 2.7, Qwen 3.7 Max, Grok 4.3 and compared it with the top performers from previous runs.
Kimi 2.7 is amazingly good. More below.

Tonight is a sobering reminder that that literally anytime, these labs can turn the faucet off just like that.
No warning. Just the flip of a switch. Intelligence on their terms, if at all.
They will continue to withhold the best models, and tell us what we're allowed to have access to.
This is why open source must win.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

I don’t even look at the product any more.
I just read the review and feed them back to Claude.
He doesn't have a CS degree, doesn't read code, and doesn't even look at AI's plans most of the time.
Yet @mvanhorn has built one of the most impressive open source track records I've seen.
My next episode is for every non-technical person who has doubts that they can build with AI agents.

What Europe should do right now:
1. Call all the European researchers working on AI and return them back with same salary (or they can stay but switch career).
2. Fill EU places having GPUs with money, and put those people there.
3. AI partnerships with China India.
