FWIW, I may not have contributed code to VyOS so I am classed as a 'freeloader' but I have contributed code to at least one upstream OSS project that VyOS integrated into its' upcoming 1.4 LTS release.
Does that still make me a 'freeloader', @vyos_dev ?
How do you explain to your customers unable to receive FTTP via @WeAreOpenreach that the price of their existing copper-based services from Openreach is going up solely to 'encourage' them to upgrade to FTTP ?
100% this!
If you work in IT, have no knowledge of #ipv6 but most importantly, you have absolutely no desire to learn; please get the f**k out of your profession and make room for someone who does.
to all the folx bemoaning when study guides get to parts w/ ipv6, & musing how maybe they can fail all of the ipv6-related exam questions & still get a passing score overall
are you starting your networking career in 2023 & hoping you can manage to avoid ipv6 until you retire?πΆ
It should surprise no-one that @QMUL has one of these at their Mile End campus... and has been marked as 'Temporary Building' on their campus map for at least the last 10 years π

If the Queen had labelled this as a leaving event, she could have had the whole palace around her and copious drinks afterwards, and still have complied with @BorisJohnsonβs version of the rules and guidance.
So, it turns out that the @ripencc will happily take β¬1000 from a debit card in the name of 'Terry Froy' for their annual invoice for LIR fees but they won't let me take a RIPE NCC Academy exam using that same name.
(NCC #569483)
If this is the level of service that an LIR who funds the operational activities of @ripencc can expect, why the hell would I recommend to other networking professionals that they should use the RIPE NCC Academy learning platform to further their credentials ?
Giving up :-(
Based on response received from @ripencc, my experience with the RIPE NCC Academy exam platform is not unusual and is why they are switching away from @PSIServicesLLC.
Ahhh... but will @cloudcocoPlc be so highly regarded in this space when they inform @ICOnews of the disclosure of private customer e-mail addresses that occurred this morning (Thursday 6th October) due to their inability to use Bcc: correctly ?
would your business benefit from knowing exactly what cyber security weaknesses you have?
CloudCoCo Plc are very highly regarded in this space so just ask us to assist you at hello@cloudcoco.co.uk lnkd.in/eVMPPNBT
A cloud is like a marriage.
Getting in is easy and fairly cheap and you think it will solve your problems, but eventually you notice that getting out again is really difficult, very expensive and chances are good that half your stuff will be missing.
I find it bloody frustrating when @mikrotik_com say they do not want to develop a PON or xDSL router because their is no demand amongst their core market - so why not sell a 802.11ax router with at least one SFP/SFP port so I can take care of that problem myself ?
Dear @eastdakota,
I would like you to meet Dave.

As @Cloudflare CEO, I hope you sleep well tonight knowing that you have blood on your hands while your platform continues to provide services to the likes of Kiwi Farms.
Was I wrong to refuse to pay a 30-day old invoice from one of my transit providers until they fulfilled my 41-day old support ticket requesting that they update their prefix filters so that I can announce an additional Legacy IP allocation ?
Response from @ripencc:
"We have performed further research into the UK laws which govern Sole Traders and we have found that the use of the trading name is in line with the applicable regulations.
<snip>
So there is no further issues regarding the trading name."

I have countered @ripencc by stating that removal of a trading name which is being used legitimately under the Business Names Act 1985 will make the RIPE database less accurate.
... and the principal operating purpose of @ripencc is to maintain the accuracy of that database.
An ambulance service, presumably somewhat pressured into pimping a bad/danger-ridden location expression tool, has neatly demonstrated one of its weaknesses.
They presumably mean names.rank.florists as names.rank.florist is in a different country.

You are a genius - this really visualizes the invisible problem. I canβt wait for apps doing this on all OSes including mobiles @Apple@Windows@Google
