TL;DR - I think every candidate should be producing short-form video, but there is opportunity everywhere to succeed with different kinds of content. Let me know what you think. What social media channels should candidates be using in 2024? testerdigital.ca/what-social…

The @NDP spent $0 on ads last week. @liberal_party caucus rebels can continue to point to these charts as proof of inaction from @JustinTrudeau's team. @PierrePoilievre's @CPC_HQ is the only party consistently reaching Canadians. #cdnpoli

I genuinely do not understand why parties are so bad at this. When BC United launched their new brand with an unreadable website, I knew the party was in deep trouble. I've seen leadership campaigns - big campaigns, big budgets - launch completely broken sites. Just... why?

If you're going to announce a new logo and make a big deal about it... ... you should probably put it on your website, and not feature prominently a "Logos and Branding" section with the old logos. Also helpful? Don't send an email with the old logo advertising your new logo.

C-18 was extremely shortsighted, and doesn’t seem to have even considered the unintended consequences of this action. This is a lot worse for Canadians and Canadian journalists than it is for Meta or Google.
Why is Meta blocking news content? And what should media, politicians, and advocacy groups do about it? Here's our take šŸ‘‡ testerdigital.ca/meta-perman…

Our team at testerdigital (okay, mostly @DeanTester) put some thoughts together on the new @voteBCUnited logo that was revealed last night. We've got some experience in this - we handled the rebrand of the @OntarioPCParty in 2018. I've got a few thoughts of my own.
What's the verdict on the new @voteBCUnited logo? Last night, the former BC Liberal party unveiled their new name and new logo at a heavily advertised and promoted live event in Surrey. The reaction has not been good...

Overall? I don't think the BC United logo is as bad as Twitter wants you to think. It's not the logo we would have designed. But when you're designing a new brand from scratch and trying to distance yourself from the past, sometimes you have to take a risk.

Time will tell — and we'll see what folks have to say after the next election and we've had a chance to see the logo in action on signs, in advertising, and on literature across the province.
