Single-cell RNA-seq transformed biology, but we still sample <0.001% of an organism. 2D sections lose 3D context. What if we image the whole body first? We Introduce DISCO-seq🤩: full 3D imaging then scRNAseq👇🏻biorxiv.org/content/10.64898… by @HarsharanBhatia, Laurent Simons et al.

Our work on mammalian hallucal grasping, led by Irene Montañez-Rivera during her time in the Nyakatura group, is out now in iScience. A true team effort; thanks to the whole crew for inviting me to contribute a small piece! cell.com/iscience/fulltext/S…

I am happy to share our protocol paper for wildDISCO technology, a platform for whole-body immunolabeling, clearing and 3D imaging of intact mice at cellular resolution using standard IgG antibodies. nature.com/articles/s41596-0… This work presents technical details for wildDISCO (Mai&Luo...Ertürk, Nature Biotechnology, 2023, nature.com/articles/s41587-0…. The protocol enables deep antibody penetration across the entire body, including challenging regions such as bone marrow, spinal cord and deep organ tissues. With this approach, we can now map neuronal, vascular, lymphatic and immune systems across the whole organism and study disease processes, cancer metastasis, microbiome interactions and systemic biology in unprecedented detail. The workflow also integrates light-sheet imaging, virtual reality visualization and online atlas generation. Work led by @jieluo692, @HongchengM . We hope this protocol helps many labs worldwide explore biology at true organism-wide scale. #DISCO #Clearing #NatureProtocols #SpatialBiology #Imaging #TissueClearing #LightSheetMicroscopy #SystemsBiology #AI #Neuroscience #CancerResearch #wildDISCO

Check out our recent work on @NatureComms! Greatly appreciate my mentors and collaborators making this possible. We developed epi-Patho-DBiT, a unified platform that enables spatially resolved ATAC -seq or CUT&Tag analyses in FFPE tissues!
Excited to see this in print! Kudos to Haikuo, Bo, and the entire team including @MinaXu7 @yalepathology @zhou_jingtian @arcinstitute to explore this clinically relevant area of lymphoma transformation with truly innovative technology. @theNCI #HTAN nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Mapping of vasculature and nervous systems networks in whole organisms (rhesus macaque, mouse, turtle). They display the same self-similar fractal geometry across species and development stage. Fractal dimension of 3 for vasculature Fractal dimension of 2 for nerve networks
Whole organism 3D mapping reveals universal branching topology and biophysical optimization governs vascular and nervous system development Read about our work here: biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…
