the last 24 hours have been absolutely INSANE 🤯 internet went wild over my dumb little fun side-project, blew up to whooping 10M - woke up to interview invites from international media - ended up in 6 national newspapers - got featured and reshared by some HUGE accounts - people in tech twitter i've genuinely looked up to saw it, liked it, and reshared - a bunch of high-signal folks hit follow - picked up by big digital pages & insta accounts - and hundreds of dms from people saying it nudged them to go build their own random fun thing 🫶 so if you're sitting on some random idea - build it. ship it before you talk yourself out of it. you really don't know who's watching or where it goes.

"clear" is the most boring terminal command so i built "catclear". you run it, a cat shows up, walks around, and clears your terminal 🐱 it’s a small python cli. completely unnecessary but every time i run it, i smile. so worth it ig. building stupid software is so much fun 😭😭

I built an "I’m bored" button that books me an uber to a random interesting place in my city. today, it's taking me to gavi gangadhareshwara temple, blr. it’s a cave temple inside a huge rock. built in 16th century ig. once a year, sunlight passes through stone discs and lights up the shiva. beautiful ancient engineering. let's see if it fixes boredom wlyk.

this might be the funniest use of an ai agent ive figured out so far 😭 detects scam messages on whastapp and auto-replies with an ai-generated photo in police uniform holding an id card

i have a HARD zero tolerance policy for such ads crappy indian apps. here is how i tackle it - custom dns is step 1. blocks 99% of this nonsense silently at the network layer. if somehow ads still show up, i reverse engineer the apis and wire it to my AI agent so i never have to open the app again. your loss is my side project.

i hated starting my day with loud alarms so i replaced my alarms with a smart bulb💡 so i used to hate mornings. felt like there has to be a better way. then i thought maybe the problem is the sudden sound. light feels more natural. like sunrise, your body gets time to wake up so i hacked my bulb and wrote a small python script. it slowly brightens my room at 6am and i wake up by 6:30 so yeah… it worked :)

ive an idea. what if there’s an app where every time you hit a pothole, you owe the govt some money. like it just tracks it and in realtime an open dashboard shows how much people 'owe' the govt - city wise?

my mom is rejecting my brother's love marriage. so i built a python AI bot to send her a new pro-love-marriage youtube video every single day until she changes her mind It’s a very small python script, nothing fancy. it searches youtube in hindi every day, picks the best video, and sends it to her not sure if this will work. i thought i’ll just let her see different perspectives over time. idk, but i'll let youtube do its thing slowly over time

my cat, docker fall sick last month. i realised i had NO idea what her day looked like when im not home. so im building an ai caretaker for my cats. in past, ive built a bunch of stuff like deploying my ai roommate above the food water bowl to monitor and get summary and get alerted. a room cam to watch her movement through the day. also i hacked together a thing that plays cat videos on the tv on a schedule and a little raw movement mood detection system. it kinda works. but it's a mess. tbh feels like duct tape. so now i'm trying to actually build the thing properly. an ai caretaker. one device, one brain. for my cats. here's what i've in my todo - → automated laser light games when im not home → food and water tracking via camera → room monitoring (movement, activity levels through the day) → a fitbit kinda thing for my cats → alerts if something feels off - eating less, moving less, anything unusual → two way audio (honestly existing camera do that already so not really needed idk) → cat tv on a schedule with remotely controlled setup because yes this is real and yes it works so far, most of my projects have been weekend hacks. ship it, post it, move on. this one i actually want to take somewhere real. something probably i'd actually put in someone else's home also. if you've built anything in pet tech, home hardware, or have ideas for what an ai pet system should do - drop it below. would genuinely love to hear it
