A friendly reminder. Almost everything in India can be explained by accepting that we live in an extremely low trust society. Nothing and nobody, including me, can be trusted. When you operate this, you can be at peace. Rest all is stress.

India’s birth rate has fallen below replacement. Among those most educated, India’s birth rate fell below replacement many years ago.
India’s fertility rate has fallen below replacement for the first time in the country’s history, declining from a TFR of 2.3 to 1.9 in just a decade. Delhi’s fertility rate now sits at 1.2, lower than Finland’s. Follow: @AFpost

Primitive tribalistic societies works that way only.
If this had happened in our dehat, his land would have been occupied by farmers from the dominant caste of the village. They would have killed the remaining family members as well to avoid court cases & to ensure nobody left to claim the land , then bribed the tehsildar or sub registrar to register the land in their name. I've heard stories even worse than this bcoz there is no law & order in our dehat.

the smell thing is as real, has always been. Not just your low salaried, labourers. but 'decent' white collared people smell - and the thing is they don't do anything about it.

Today, we remember a legend. On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation’s timeline. Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. Ten years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme. He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the internet bringing millions of people together for one cause: never forgetting Harambe. Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on. Gone, but never forgotten. Rest easy to a true patriot. 🕊️🇺🇸 May 27, 1999 — May 28, 2016 Forever in our hearts.

I use to feel that it's a low effort propoganda but not giving up easily is actually right most of the time. Maybe an exception but Trumps 2024 win was one such big celeb moment before us!
the saddest lie people believe is that there is an age where life is basically over. like there’s some invisible deadline for becoming successful, confident, loved, healthy, fulfilled. so they slowly give up on themselves. they stop trying new things. stop believing they can change. they begin living like their future has already been decided. but life is strange. people hit rock bottom at 40 and rebuild themselves at 41. people spend years lost and suddenly discover purpose in a random season of their life. some people bloom early. some bloom after pain breaks them open. there is no universal timeline for becoming who you are meant to be. you are not “too old.” you are carrying experiences, failures, heartbreak and lessons that teach you what truly matters in life. people underestimate what happens when someone keeps believing in their future for years without immediate results. because while everyone else slowly becomes cynical, they stay alive inside. you can change your body. change your mindset. change your career. change your entire life direction. as long as your heart still beats, the story is not finished.

As much as I believe that rituals are performative, the same was ridiculed when they would make Krishna's idol wear sweater in winter. It's tough for them either way!
Not one of them is showing any urgency to put out the fire. The same tree they were so fervently praying to. Shows you how performative all of these rituals really are. Meaningless.
