Dear Hannah Spencer…I really like you and what you stand for. Please don’t turn out to be a knob. Me and the young girls I teach need you very much not to do that. Thanks.

Before I make one with my limited skills, does anyone have a booklet for staff supporting with SATS with all the rules about what you can and can’t do in the tests?

We have a TA who is becoming a bit overwhelmed by the constant noise in school - works with the littlies and does wraparound club as well! Was wondering about loop ear plugs to support. Anyone used them themselves? Views?

Cannot believe I’m at the stage where I’m changing my bio to say I’ve been a HT for 6 years. Still absolutely winging it 😂

The 🇮🇱 flag was included in the London Eye New Year’s display. The Star of David wasn’t removed. The flags were small, animated and part of a sequence forming the Union Flag. Visibility issues affected several blue & white flags, not Israel alone. No evidence this was antisemitic

Hi, what tests do people use if any? We currently use NFER but are shopping around. Particularly interested in maths tests which align with ncetm. TIA

Year 6 teachers using NCETM. Does this map provide appropriate coverage before the SATs or do we need to move some things from summer 2 to earlier on. Supporting a colleague and would appreciate your help

So….we had our SMRA report…feel absolutely bereft. All of the suggestions will directly and negatively impact student and staff wellbeing. We’re a good school with an excellent reputation for SEND provision. Not for much longer 😭If I could afford to walk away I would.

It hasn’t been a negative experience. The chap is lovely and just has a job to do, but the suggestions chip away at our core

Yesterday the teaching Gods conspired against me! First the adverts on you tube were ‘who gives a crap’ followed by ‘Always’ and then the page number in the atlas was 67 !! All followed by our Halloween sprint in the afternoon. Pretty much gave up 😂

We have a year 6 boy that likes a bit of horror to read. Any recommendations for suitable books? Bonus points for short stories x

"You can't physically chuck a 13-year-old over a school gate and say: ‘Go on, get in.’" Actor Anna Maxwell Martin, who's navigated the SEND system as a parent, tells #R4Today that attitude is just as important as funding to help support children with special educational needs.

1) We’d like to teach BSL instead of French in our 1 form entry as A) we colleagues at high school tell us they start at the beginning with French in yr 7 and B) we think it would be very beneficial to our young people. Does anyone do this?

2) I’ve found primary’s that do, but all academies. As an LA school I can’t get a straight answer on if it’s permitted

Turning my thoughts to support staff PM. Have never quite managed to crack this! I want staff to feel it’s a collaborative process and worthwhile. Does anyone do something brilliant they wouldn’t mind sharing?

As a collab we’d like to arrange some events so that year 6 children can meet the children from other schools that they’re going to high school with. Any ideas what might work?

Been one hell if a day. Colleague checking in asked me what self care I was doing this weekend. I’m not sure this is what she meant
