By definition, “the long acre” means to graze livestock on the verge of a road, but to me, it means a lot more…this expression along with “living on the long acre” was often used by people to describe me and my journey. My love for all thing’s nature & farming related .

The Truth About Healing, Trauma & Toxic Online Energy with Maurice Megan (Part 1) youtu.be/x5DS8kMD-6g?is=iOHM… In Part 1 of this conversation on The Silent Majority Media, Maurice Fitz (The Long Acre) sits down with Megan Coogan for a deep discussion around holistic healing, trauma, nervous system regulation, toxic online behaviour, energy healing, self-awareness, and reconnecting with yourself in a modern world that often feels constantly overstimulated. The conversation explores how trauma can live within the body long after experiences happen, the impact of stress and emotional suppression, online negativity and behavioural patterns, and why more people are now looking toward holistic and body-led approaches to healing and self-development. After years working on the frontlines of trauma in residential care with deeply traumatised children and young people, Megan Coogan was led toward a deeper exploration of healing — one that moved beyond the cognitive mind and into the wisdom of the body, nervous system, and energetic field. Now working as a somatic and energy healer, her work supports trauma release, nervous system regulation, embodiment, and spiritual awakening through a deeply intuitive and body-led approach. She is passionate about helping people understand how trauma is held within the body, how emotional and energetic patterns shape our lives, and how true healing happens through reconnection to the self, the body, and the deeper intelligence within. Her work bridges trauma-informed care, somatic healing, energy medicine, and expanded states of consciousness. This episode opens important conversations around healing, awareness, emotional wellbeing, modern pressures, and the importance of understanding ourselves on a deeper level. 🦌💥Another certificate in the bag! I’ve now successfully completed the 2-day Deer Stalking Course with @countrysportsireland , and what a fantastic weekend it was. The course was incredibly informative and engaging, and I’ve come away with a much deeper understanding of deer stalking, shooting, and harvesting of deer in Ireland. Over the weekend, we covered the different deer species found in Ireland, their behaviours, associated diseases, and the laws and regulations surrounding deer management and ethical shooting. On day two, I completed the practical shooting assessment using a .243 calibre rifle kindly provided by Midlands Shooting Centre Ireland, shooting from prone, kneeling, and standing positions at various distances. Delighted to say I performed very well and also passed the written assessment with flying colours. In the coming months, I’ll also be attending the Meat Handling Certificate programme with Country Sports Ireland to further develop my skills in processing wild game responsibly and making full use of ethically harvested deer for food. There’s something incredibly rewarding about harvesting, preparing, and cooking truly wild, free-roaming food for yourself. For me, this ties closely with the sustainable, off-grid lifestyle I value and promote—understanding where your food comes from and being capable of providing it yourself. Rural pursuits, hunting, and countryside traditions have long been an important part of Ireland’s culture and heritage, and I believe these skills and traditions should continue to be respected and carried forward into the future. A big thank you to Country Sports Ireland for delivering such a fantastic course, and a special thanks to Midlands Shooting Centre, Blue Ball, Offaly, for their support throughout the practical assessment. I will now be looking at various rifle manufacturers & calibres to make a decision on what one i will purchase. But I'm leaning towards a .270 benelli lupo . Thanks very much Ronan & all the team @countrysportsireland #huntingireland #shooting #fieldsportsbritain #deerhunting
