This is just to tweet
I have ruined
the site
where you spent
your days
And which
you were planning
to use
forever
Forgive me
I was
So rich
and so stupid
I found this creamer in our faculty fridge. It has been expired for almost 12 years now (!?). I don't think I can throw it away, since it definitely has tenure at this point
20 years ago, I took sound designer Adam Phalen on his first plane trip, to NYC. He was so scared he held my hand the whole trip. A year later I took him to The Kennedy Center & he held my hand to D.C. The second time he said he wasn't scared, he just wanted to hold my hand. RIP
How wretched it would be
to state that we
have grown accustomed
to life
in a collapsing society
so instead we have learned
to call our numbness
resilience.
there is one group of people who have demonstrated over and over again that when school shootings happen they will give their lives to protect children and it is TEACHERS.
and the right wing has spent the last year vilifying, harassing, and harming them in every way possible.
insane how the only notable change since Sandy Hook is that kids are now formally trained to hide, barricade doors, fight, or run for their lives. that was the solution. to literally put the responsibility on them to figure it out and wish them luck.
Looking back now, it was a total gangster move to be out there fishing alone on the pier at age fucking 4 with the goddamn bologna sandwich he probably packed his damn self.
Does anyone else feel the patronising tone of phrases like ‘protect the vulnerable’? Why the othering? And anyway who exactly are the vulnerable? It’s you and me and everyone at some point in time. There are no sacrifices or favours when we instead say ‘let’s protect eachother’.
I feel like opening k-12, colleges and universities, parents going back to work, the end of pandemic unemployment assistance, and the eviction moratorium all at roughly the same time might not end well.
Need to get vaccinated? We can come to you. Call our Vaccine Call Center any day of the week at 833-540-0473 between 8:00 AM and 8:30 PM for assistance.
I’m still not sure how to express the gratitude I feel to everyone who’s been thoughtful and conscious this past year.
So much attention goes to the ignorant few. But so many more have been quietly trying so hard for so long.
