TAXPAYER RISK: Obama Presidential Center's $470M endowment sits at just $1M as subcontractors claim they're owed millions days before grand opening. The fund was promised as an insurance policy so Chicago taxpayers wouldn't get stuck covering future costs on the 99-year deal. Construction costs have ballooned from $330M to at least $850M. The Obama Foundation says the center is 'fully funded' and plans to make 'significant investments' in the endowment in coming years — but critics say a promise to raise money later is not the same as having a funded backstop in place.

@themodpun Johnathan Jackson (D), Jessie Jackson's son, the one Christian is running against, has secured almost 10M for several projects at the beginning of his term and only one 1M project has been completed since 2022. Then in FY2024, he requested over 22M for 15 more projects. Jackson continues requesting and announcing new funding for FY2026/FY2027 projects and has not had any bills where he was the primary sponsor become law. He has also participated in NAACP-related events and activities. Where has all the money gone?!?
