We had an order of 9 chicks delivered Friday. By Sunday, 8 of them had died. 😥
I think a combination of a longer delivery time and the heat combined to cause organs to shut down. This is the one survivor sleeping on our youngest's shoulder

Happy Sunday morning! Yesterday I had my first job filling in for a handyman. It was an easy $50 and came with a great view. It's hard to tell unless you zoom in, but there are rows of hills visible out in the distance

Okay, so I did wash some of it off and ate some just so I could remember what I didn't like about it. Definitely not as sweet as a garden or store carrot, but the main difference is that it's a lot tougher. I'm sure there's a right time to harvest them, but they'd be tiny

Day lilies are not just pretty, but are edible, too. While not especially tasty, they spread in dense bulb clusters. I pulled about 15 gallons of bulbs and roots from this one area I want to level and grow grass in.
Imagine if you were worried about starving and didn't know you had food right in your flower garden. 🤔
