I tried a first game solo @BoardwithStocks bc I don't want to let you wait. First: it is a lot of fun. Everything feels familiar but in a more modern way. I think it will be highly interactive and very enjoyable when you receive money from your opponents.

Martin had some good ideas here. No income, just spending money. You can deliver in any city as long as you are connected. Opponents receive money if you use their track(s) or factories. Easy and simple as AoS but also as good as it.
