I watched it in theaters. It was the first time I realized a thriller could also legitimately be a great film. And strangely enough, this is when Harrison Ford became my favorite actor—still is.
Harrison Ford had some great action movies in the 1990s, were you a fan of The Fugitive?
Happy Sunday, friends! I hope you have an amazing day, and that you find some rest if it's eluding you. Have a good one, fam!

Aww episode eight of Awajima was a meaningful but happy story. It featured such a lovely trio—the kind that makes you wish you could have found in high school.

Great anime! I recommend Akage no Anne. I love Takahata, and I think this is easily his best work. What he learned from making Heidi, he applied and perfected here. It's also not only the most faithful adaptation of the novel, it vastly improves upon it with amazing "filler."

Read Claymore, don't watch it. Possibly the worst conclusion for an awesome series ever. Oh, and we all know to read TPN, too, right?

I'm going to recommend an anime: Secrets of the Silent Witch. This rare coming-of-age story (and a fantasy mystery!) features an adult protagonist. It's meaningful and moving, with nice pacing and lovely touches of romance and humor. Now, your job? Recommend an anime to me!

Austen wasn't easy for me in college either. But I still loved her novels. I kept reading them because of how witty, satisfying, and timeless they are. You don't always need to fully understand what you're reading to be profoundly affected by it.

I remember the Rikki-Tikki-Tavi cartoon—but not nearly as well as the short story. It's wonderful. I've reread it multiple times.

Released in 1975, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was an animated television special directed by legendary animator Chuck Jones and based on the classic story by Rudyard Kipling. The story follows a brave mongoose who takes on two deadly cobras to protect the family that rescued him. For a generation of kids, it was one of those rare animated films that felt genuinely intense. The stakes were real, the villains were terrifying, and you couldn't help but root for Rikki-Tikki every step of the way. More than 50 years later, it's still remembered as one of the finest animated adaptations ever put on television. Did you watch Rikki-Tikki-Tavi growing up?

Yay! It's Frieren Friday!! ...oh wait. It's not. :( But I think we can still carry Frieren into our Fridays if we approach it with meaning and kindness and hope. Go finish your week strong, friends, and have a wonderful weekend!

I've been on Threads for about a week now, and honestly, it's better than Twitter in a lot of ways: • Easy to navigate • Easy to build a following • Tons of engagement • The algorithm is easier to understand It has everything Twitter doesn't. Everything except you guys. 🥲

My parents rarely took me to movies growing up. By the time I watched Jurassic Park at the dollar theater, I'd read Crichton's novel three times—which may explains why I walked out disappointed. I did eventually fall in love with the movie, but it took a long, long time.
Jurassic Park starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough debuted in theaters today in 1993. BITE-SIZED FACT | The groundbreaking sci-fi adventure revolutionized blockbuster cinema and special effects, eventually going on to gross over $914 million during its original theatrical run!
