Vote Yes on Prop R for STL Community Colleges. There’s still time at the polls! I’m a research scientist at STLCC and our interns really do benefit from paid internships. It can be life changing. And my office could benefit from those infrastructure resources.

Today, we honor the legacy of George Floyd. We pray for continued healing for his loved ones, as we work to dismantle systems built on injustice and inhumanity.

To my AAPI fam and friends- this song is everything. So excited about this re-release. It’s fire. 🎧 and please share! #webelong21 #AAPIHeritageMonth @gotvu @mntn_music @taiyona
Proud to share a song we've been working on for #AAPIHeritageMonth. 2021 has run the gamut of grief and joy for this community, and throughout it all "we're still here, we're going strong and we're getting tired of proving we belong." ✊✊🏻✊🏾✊🏿✊🏼 ffm.to/webelong21

Caught between two job choices? Read @RebekahLayton ‘s article. She talks about false dichotomies that may contribute to why you’re feeling stuck btw choices. Read techniques- adding imagined doors. And If ur not financial bound & have room to dream- Be outrageous!

Her story is inspiring. I loved reading about her tenacity and focus on her goals. And also, anyone else bothered by the title? I mean...duh, she was ready. What about “MLS moved to change institutionally oppressive hiring practices”?
"There was no aspect of the game she wasn’t familiar with." Kim Ng, the first woman hired to run a major league team's baseball operations, proved herself for decades. Some of her peers say they can’t think of a more qualified first-time general manager. nyti.ms/3kEYZux

Yes! And faculty mentors, don’t be worried if you don’t know of other careers paths. Be a great mentor & point students/postdocs to graduate career advisors on campus or share websites: InterSECTjobsims for PhDs myIDP VersatilePhD @imaginephd Beyond the Tenure Track &others.
As students and postdocs face a challenging and uncertain job market, it is more important than ever for faculty mentors to remember that all career paths are valid career paths and that our goal is to help mentees achieve their career goals, not replicate ours.
