Thank you to all the wonderful children, young people, families, schools, neighbours and partner organisations who have taught me so much and made my time here full of so many joyful memories.

I’ll be moving up to Northumberland but I’ll still be incredibly fond of you all, praying for you and MINE, and excited to see what happens next in Byker and Walker!

We had a lovely day on Friday for our end of Summer fun day! It was great to see so many lovely neighbours. Our 11 group planned, set up for and hosted a lot of this fun day as part of their Love NE6 summer activities!
Such big feels after being at the last @thisisachoice funday of our time in Byker, 10 years after we got here. So many gorgeous people from the community there - teenagers now grown, youth club members helping run things for younger ones, mams along to help out, and many… 1/2
Today the love NE6 crew gave out ice creams and painted faces. Not only that, they kept their cool and supported each other beautifully when we (sadly) had to finish early because of some disruptive guests. Young people are wonderful.
We had a lovely day at Northumberland Zoo today! I particularly loved seeing former young people doing an amazing job looking after their children / niece and nephew.
Rachel has been a wonderful friend, supporter, helper, partner and teacher to us in her children and youth work role and we are incredibly grateful for all she’s shared with us in that time!
“It’s the right time.” As the Revd Rachel Scheffer announces she is stepping back from her children & youth work role after 8 years, we want to say a huge thank you for all she has done for young people in the Diocese. More 👉 bit.ly/3OeKCxW
These are incredibly readable, affirming, enabling and are a wonderful gift to all those who seek to walk with young people and provide safe, enjoyable spaces fort them to thrive.
There's a lot of pages which may be offputting but they remain very accessible! (1/3)

This is especially important for church and other faith based youth work providers (even if it's all volunteer run!). We have an incredible privilege to walk alongside young people in our congregations with a closer relationship than simply being "service providers" (2/3)
But with that privilege comes a huge amount of responsibility. Young people will be safer, happier and will grow into holistically healthier adults if we receive these resources as the gifts they are. (3/3)
