Here's why @thisisarculus has become my hardware wallet of choice after years with Ledger and why it edges out Tangem, its closest card based competitor imo
Arculus > Ledger
Ledger's firmware updates always gave me heart palpitations. I never actually had an issue, but the thought of an update bricking my wallet and temporarily losing access to my BTC was enough to stress me out. Arculus cards have no firmware updates. That alone is a feature and calms my heart.
Arculus > Tangem
Tangem claims the fastest wallet setup in the game and they're right. But that speed comes at a cost, they let users skip setting up a 12–24 word recovery phrase entirely. I hate that this is even an option.
What's the point of moving to cold storage if you're not using it securely? If you lose all three of your Tangem cards with no recovery phrase set up, your crypto is gone forever. That door should never be left open.
Also Arculus cards are metal. Tangem's are plastic. It's a small thing, but the premium feel matters to me.
For my money, Arculus is the move. And if you want one, I have a code you can use for 10% off - ARCURUMS10
