Someone came up with an app concept similar to Pokemon GO, but featuring real animals.
The idea is to photograph different animals in real life, and the more unique species you capture, the higher you'll rank on the leaderboard.
Absolutely genius!
To boost Star Focus beyond its current ~5 daily organic downloads, I working on separate section with well-known movies.
Soon, users will be able to explore Zeta Reticuli from the Alien/Aliens/Prometheus, as well as Tau Ceti and 40 Eridani from Project Hail Mary etc. Stay tuned!
Few days ago I created a droplet on DigitalOcean and described my idea (web service) to Claude.
He created the files, installed Docker and deployed everything in just few minutes via SSH.
Doing this myself would have taken me an entire day.
We are living in an incredible time.
Did you know all four major worlds in Dune orbit real stars?
Arrakis, the desert planet, sits at Canopus. The second-brightest star in the night sky, an F-type supergiant 310 light-years out.
Hot and luminous enough that its habitable zone falls very far from the star itself.
Caladan, the Atreides homeworld, is Delta Pavonis, a G8 subgiant 20 ly out and one of the better nearby biosignature candidates.
Kaitain, the Imperial capital, is Sigma Draconis (Alsafi, 18.8 ly).
Giedi Prime, the Harkonnen seat, is 36 Ophiuchi B (K1V, 19 ly).
In StarFocus, my iOS focus app, the ship cruises at 10 million times the speed of light.
Earth to Caladan in 63 sec, Kaitain in 59, Giedi Prime in 60, Canopus in 16 min 18 sec.
Or pick any of 23,000 real nearby stars by name.

The numbers for my Star Focus app are growing slowly.
I released a version with iPad support and am currently working on versions for Apple TV and Android.
My recent post about stars from Project Hail Mary and how to reach them in my app brought me around 10 new installs.
In October 2020, I bought $200 of Shiba Inu coins, expecting it to rise. I sold after a few weeks. By May 2021, those coins would have been worth $1.5 million, and by October 2021, $3 million.
Watched the For All Mankind S5 finale yesterday. Felt sad that Kelly was left on Titan, but the glowing lake she entered gives me hope that alien lifeform might save her.
Did you know the Project Hail Mary movie takes place at real stars?
The Hail Mary is sent to Tau Ceti, a Sun-like star 11.9 light-years from Earth.
In the book, Grace spends 4 years 8 months in a coma getting there (~13 years pass on Earth). At Voyager speed: ~210,000 years.
At the end of the story, Grace travels with his alien friend Rocky to 40 Eridani A (Keid), 16.3 ly out.
It's Rocky's home star, a real K-type primary in a triple system (the same star is Vulcan's sun in Star Trek).
That's another ~177,000 years from Tau Ceti at Voyager speed.
In StarFocus, my iOS focus app, the ship cruises at 10 million times the speed of light. Earth to Tau Ceti in 36 seconds, then Tau Ceti to Keid in another 30.
Pick a session from 5 to 120 minutes, or even choose any of 23,000 real nearby stars by name.
