I hope Whit Stillman finds it in him to make another secretly reactionary movie that impressionable young people watch just because of the aesthetics and soundtrack

Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, has been tormented by a Brazilian man named Osvaldo for the last several years.
You just gotta admire the sheer dedication here tbf 😭😭😭

There is no evidence that these tweets exist. None of Dangote's tweets shown here are to be found anywhere, and most of the other user's tweets shown don't exist; the one that does is not a reply to Dangote.

The Supreme Court rejected President Biden's student loan forgiveness plan.
More than 45 million people in the U.S. owe $1.6 trillion in student loan debt, data shows. Here's how balances have grown and have a disparate impact on different populations. nyti.ms/3pl2iQc
This isn’t mentioned in my book - there was just too much other weirdness to fit in - but in 1990 Steven Seagal participated in a video called The Celebrity Guide To Wine.
In it, he and then-wife Kelly LeBrock open a bottle of wine in the most excruciatingly awkward way possible.
Enjoy. (Thanks to @Lawrence_Norton for the original link)
I understand why people on the west coast are upset that the smoke affecting NYC is a bigger story than the west coast wildfire smoke but they need to realize the lives of people in nyc and the northeast in general are much more valuable than those of people on the west coast
Easter in London, 1900
Review: "Dull"
⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
ALT London, April 18
A DULL EASTER
Was there such a dull Easter in London? Surely everybody who can leaves the din and the bustle, the gloom and the smoke, the dust or the mud, as the case may be according to the weather, when Eastertide comes round. To Londoners in general Easter is no Easter as it is supposed to be, but a time when they take their first "blow-out" for the season. I don't mean the kind of "blow-out" you mean; but their first blow -- you know -- out by the sea, or on the downs, or in the country somewhere -- or elsewhere, wherever that may be. Anyway, this time nobody who had to remain in town could remember such a dull Easter as this was. Nobody could remember when there was such a fearful congestion of traffic at and around the railway stations owing to the crowds of people waiting to get away. It was phenomenal.
