I don't think Elon will be able to redeem himself. He should have stuck with rockets and EVs, but his god complex got the best of him. History will judge hard on him despite his achievements a decade ago.

Trump just did an April Fools speech. He performed a speech to the nation but said nothing.

Donald Trump: β€œNATO is nothing without America.” Meloni: β€œPerfect. Then Europe will close the U.S. bases, tear up the sweetheart trade deals, and, just to make the message land, boycott McDonald’s too.” That is the blunt reality: if Washington wants to talk like protection is a one way favor, Europe can answer like a partner with leverage, not a dependent begging for permission. And honestly, that tone is long overdue. When someone says β€œyou are nothing without me,” the correct reply is not gratitude. It is boundaries.
Community note
First, the original video is from early January. Second, Meloni was responding NOT to Trump, but to critics of Italian foreign policy, who claim Italy should "separate" from NATO. Third, the full context of her remarks are here: youtube.com/watch?v=wHyUEN…

Does America have friends left? Except maybe some oil states in the Middle East?

This was a really good speech, but the free world will need to stand up together against the United States - if it cares about its former friend and its own security.
For anyone who would like to hear Mark Carney’s outstanding Davos speech in full here it is. This is what true global leadership looks like. Canada should be immensely proud today, because they are leading the fight back when others dare not. πŸŽ₯ TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZNRBDT4mB/

Europe should stop thinking we can negotiate with the USA and take the pain of confronting the United States. I uploaded this two days ago but would obviously add that this is just a small part in what Europe needs to do now to confront Trump's imperialism. youtu.be/IyrbIFSykWM

I'm seeing 50 foreigners and supposedly 140 locals are locked up in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) after testing positive on drugs - after a raid on a night club call The Lighthouse, which had a full house because it was closing down after the last party on Saturday. Quite remarkable. I'm hearing they're sleeping on the floor and embassies have not been informed yet. #HoChiMinhCity facebook.com/groups/29897363…

Wat heeft Wilders zich bewezen als een ongelofelijke nietsnut. Alleen maar protest en verder niks kunnen.

This father went to his citizenship hearing expecting a handshake. Instead, ICE shackled him, threw him into a van, and tore him away from his pregnant wife and four childrenβ€”without even letting him say goodbye. Kasper Eriksen arrived in Mississippi from Denmark in 2013, fully documented and determined to build a life here. He started a family, became part of his community, and followed every rule. He was never accused, let alone convicted, of any crime. But as best we understand, he's now imprisoned because of a single clerical mistake made years ago. In 2015, Kasper and his wife, Savannah, missed filing one form, among the hundreds required on the complicated path to citizenship. Savannah had just suffered a stillbirth, losing their first child. In the painful days that followed, paperwork deadlines understandably slipped past unnoticed. Now, over a month after his arrest, Kasper remains locked in a detention facility notorious for cruelty, neglect, and abuse. Savannahβ€”eight months pregnant, at high risk, and terrifiedβ€”is desperately pleading for her husband's return. She and their children have no idea when or if they'll ever see him again, and she doesn't know if he'll be present for her child's birth. Every day brings another nightmare under the Trump administration. The actions of our government are evil. There's simply no other way to describe it. May God have mercy on us all for allowing this to happen.

I happen to think this is actual nonsense. Sure, economic decline wouldn't be great. But you need small and committed teams to change the world, right? You don't need 9 billion.

BREAKING: Clothing stores like Fabletics now have a Tariff Surcharge Line Item. This is the new norm in the Trump economy. I commend any companies who do this. Transparency is good and at least we know why our prices went up.
