Nebraska has announced that longtime football assistant George Darlington died Sunday at age 87.
He coached from 1973 to 2002 and remained a fixture around the Huskers long after his retirement. One of the all-time personalities of the program.
Darlington was colorful and had a story for every situation. He expanded Nebraskaโs reputation as a recruiter on the West Coast and was known by seemingly everyone in football in that part of the country, despite his West Virginia roots and New Jersey upbringing.
He will be missed.

Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.
