For me, the outside impulses, be it via @tomaspfister this year or @MergenthalerMax et al in the deep dive are always the special sessions. Especially with #Nixtla, it’s great to have witnessed their development over the last few years.

🚀 Excited to share that we released Chronos today. Chronos is a framework for building pretrained time series models based on language model architectures.
Simple idea: quantize time series into tokens and feed them into 🤗 @huggingface models.

(Center) The tokens are fed into a language model which may either be an encoder-decoder or a decoder-only model. The model is trained using the cross-entropy loss. (Right) During inference, we autoregressively sample tokens from the model and map them back to numerical values. Multiple trajectories are sampled to obtain a predictive distribution.

At this week's @aistats_conf 2023, we presented a new method for generating coherent probabilistic forecasts with temporal hierarchies. The forecasts at each temporal hierarchy are feed into GCN to allow for the propagation of statistical strengths. 1/2
