Education & healthcare are at a breaking point. Prices for food/utilities/gas etc. are untenable. We need safe injection sites & mental health supports & more. Ppl are struggling. Iāll vote NDP, but the comms strategy needs work. Dunking on Kenney isnāt enough to win an election.

Folks attacking teachers act like our goal is to work remotely. In reality, teaching online is both more work far less joy. We donāt want to teach onlineāwe just want ourselves, our students, our families to be safe. We could be fighting for safe in-person schooling together!

I hate online teaching. For myself and for my students. But do you know what I hate more? Knowing Omicron will likely rip through the unboosted/unvaccinated populations of students in mere weeks and worrying how many will have severe outcomes or long Covid. We need a plan NOW.

If the World Juniors are getting cancelled bc of COVID, I struggle to see how AB schools stay open. This tourny had all the time/money/effort invested & it still spread. Schools have way less resources. Kenney needs to make a decision now to give teachers & families time to prep.

Iām at the point of Christmas where I almost wish I had COVID so I had an excuse to isolate.
(This is a joke & I donāt wish COVID on any1. I love my family, but extra ppl is rough as an ADHDāer prone to sensory overload. the unresolved tension of being the eldest daughter š)

As a dad who regularly experiences racism, yesterdayās CCSD Parent Trustee Forum was triggering. Racism is a system level problem. Yet the approach of @CCSD_edu was to use individual ācourageous conversationsā to solve this problem.
