Very happy to share our work on artificial polymerization motors! Like microtubules, our system generates forces (up to 2,3 pN!) via controlled disassembly of self-organized molecules. A small force for mankind, a big force for molecules 😉🦾. nature.com/articles/s41565-0…

Congratulations to @karinakinuyo! The first within our group to defend her PhD. You did an outstanding job, and we are glad that many of us were able to attend the defence.

Hudlicky's essay made statements on gender, race & mentoring practices that are plain wrong, deeply offensive & against everything we all believe in. Repudiations of the opinions followed quickly with uplifting statements of values from every corner of the chemistry community.1/7

OK @FeringaLab @ProfDaveLeigh @sirfrasersays , love to hear theories about this. I remember reading a paper detailing a ratchet mechanism for perversions in plant tendrils, wonder if this results from similar phenomena, and if so why the difference between Chinese and Japanese.
great chiral fact: 🇯🇵 Japanese Wisteria (Figure One) twist clockwise whereas 🇨🇳 Chinese Wisteria (Figure Two) twist anti-clockwise. 🤯🌀

I'm very disappointed to have to announce that ISMSC2020 is cancelled due to COVID_19. While very sad not to be hosting the meeting, this is the safest outcome for all. Please RT to spread the word.

Super proud of you! Well deserved opportunity to participate to the Lindau Nobel laureate meeting.
It's an exceptional honour to be selected as a participant of the #LINO70 meeting. Thank you @EU_Commission and @MSCActions for nominating me, and @UTwente for hosting me. A huge thanks goes to my supervisor @tkudernac for believing in me.
