The #AssistedSuicide/#AssistedDyingBill's own sponsors laid down important amendments that didn't make it into a Commons-endorsed version, so I trust that they will not try to use the Parliament Acts to force through what they concede is an unfinished Bill.
NEW: The Assisted Dying Bill is returning to Parliament this week. Labour MP Lauren Edwards will reintroduce it on Wednesday after coming 2nd in the private members’ ballot. “The process has been frustrated by a small minority”, she argues.

I'm sorry to say that #TipToe is an unusually bad series. Unrealistic so not gritty; contrived; preachy; hammy; too many topical messages shoe-horned in to something that's too full to breathe. A waste of the talent it included.

If the government wants people to enjoy marriage rights then it should promote marriage, not just the rights. Instead of effectively negating the institution, it could promote it by reducing costs and red tape or, even better, restoring a marriage-friendly tax system.
Many unmarried, cohabiting couples have limited legal protections if their relationship ends or a partner dies, even after long-term relationships or raising children together. Labour is consulting on reforms to strengthen the legal protections available to these couples.

I'm sad to read of Anthony Head's death. He was an excellent and refining British Ambassador to the Hellmouth and the perfect Watcher. Go well, Giles.

The better answer is surely *not* to adapt and instead to promote the adaptation of the maladjusted to the things that preceding generations know to be better for them.
🚨 NEW: A Government review has found employers must adapt to the "bedroom generation" of unemployed 16-24 year olds by offering more flexibility It says they're "not snowflakes or faking it" and their anxiety and depression is linked to growing up on social media [@thetimes]

In 1980, we had one regulator for every 11,000 people working in financial services. Today, it's closer to one regulator for every *75* people. Bureaucrats always create more rules and always work to expand their powers. The idea that we can "regulate for growth" is ludicrous.

Marvellous. Keeping our own oil and gas in the ground, while actively choosing to hand money to Russia, a hostile and aggressive dictatorship, all amid a scramble to work out how we are going to fund the defence of our country against…Russia.

This is a shocking abandonment of the UK's leadership on Ukraine. We should be stepping up efforts to intercept shadow fleet shipments, not waving them the Channel and then sending money to Putin. 🇺🇦 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy42…
