These graphics were fun to put together using @networkx_team, graphframes, @databricks, @matplotlib, and of course some lovely OS data.

I think swifts are some of the most astonishing birds and I could talk for hours about them. Their population is now less than half of what it was when I was born. Biodiversity collapse is accelerating and is even scarier than climate change.

If we extend our gaze even further east, *11 countries* have set new records for Covid deaths in the last few weeks.
It genuinely stops you in your tracks. Think back to December 2020, and a dozen countries are now going through that or worse, a year after vaccines came on line.
