I just argued at Russell Laffitte‘s state court sentencing for pleading guilty to numerous financial crimes on behalf of our clients the Plyler sisters, who had their trust and money significantly abused by him. The coward refused to speak to the court and didn’t even properly apologize to the Plyler sisters. Quite frankly, I didn’t see the requisite amount of remorse, even though he was pleading guilty. He will serve his state time concurrently with the federal time that he got a 40 months after he previously plead guilty. A tremendous job by Creighton Waters along with the support of Attorney General Alan Wilson, and making sure he was separately prosecuted on the state level in addition to the federal court. Cant outrun justice. Went from a CEO of a bank to a convicted felon. So, an AI “band” who cite us as an influence (ie, it’s modelled off our music) have just overtaken us on Spotify, in only TWO months. It’s shocking, it’s disheartening, it’s insulting - most importantly - it’s a wake up call. Oppose AI music, or bands like us stop existing.

The lack of National MSM coverage of the devastation is Western NC makes me wonder what else we’re not learning about. The irony is that it is SO bad it’s not being covered bc it’s TOO bad to get to - and the victims don’t have cell reception to tell their stories.
