Many Nigerians say they are not yet feeling the impact of the economic reforms. That concern is understandable. But economic progress can be compared to building a house. As the owner, you can see the foundation being laid, the walls going up, and the resources being invested. The project is clearly advancing, even though you cannot move in yet because it is still under construction. It would be inaccurate to claim that no progress is being made simply because the house is not yet ready for occupation. The true benefits come when the construction is completed. In the same way, structural reforms often take time before their effects are fully felt by ordinary citizens. The challenge is to ensure that the rebuilding continues until the benefits translate into better living conditions for the people.
