Boomers talk a lot of smack for a generation of people that could just walk out their front door in the morning and find food and drink waiting for them.

What you're talking about here is alexithymia, and it's a disconnection between somatic emotional feelings (present in everyone) and internal cognition. So an alexithymic person will get startled in a car, become angry (and think angry - important) but if you ask them? Not angry.

You can add Baking Soda, or a shot of urine (I know it sounds weird but it cooks out like alcohol) to speed it up...almost every Mexican restaurant does this

Devil's advocacy is neat and all, but I mean literally the first random document I click on in the Epstein files is this.

Reminder that if you know someone who was a child between ~1950 and 1980 that they 100% experienced childhood lead poisoning. The hippocampal region responsible for "changing dysfunctional patterns of thinking, behaving and developing new mindsets" died when they were a child.

For those in LA and California learning for the first times about fire and Eucalyptus, here's something to confuse you. Eucalyptus trees don't burn. They're extremely fire retardant.

When I spent time visiting in California from Australia, I was completely dumbfounded to see Eucalyptus trees. It was like finding out everyone keeps pet crocodiles without really ever thinking about why. Then I found out they had plantations of the stuff. Everywhere.

Epicormic sprouting, triggered by the fire, means that scant a handful of days past the fire it's like nothing happened at all. The fuel build-up is gone. Seedlings are germinating. The tree looks all funny and furry, but other than that, there's no harm done to the tree.

And now, your fully mature eucalypt ecosystem will repeat this cyle every half decade for.. Well, forever. Until there are no competitors, or until those competitors become fire adapted due to selection pressure. They do look nice though.
