These two short sentences tell you a lot about our government and our culture! 1. We are advised to not judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, But we are encouraged to judge All Gun Owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works…. And here is another one worth considering. 2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of Money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? What's Interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Profound isn't it... Think about it.....

.@GovPritzker did not "eliminate" his planned gas tax hike, of course. He delayed it until after his election. What makes this lazily fallacious tweet even more egregious is the fact that Pritzker has quietly squeezed Illinois drivers every year since 2019, and he made it so state lawmakers don't even have to cast a vote to make it happen! In addition to doubling the state gas tax from 19 to 38 cents that year, he also implemented yearly inflationary gas tax increases that occur every July automatically. There is no expiration date on these tax hikes. By 2056, the statewide gas tax could exceed $1 per gallon, which is five times higher than before Pritzker took office. Meanwhile, lawmakers get to avoid casting unpopular votes, dodging accountability from taxpayers entirely. Not to mention, federal data shows fewer Illinois roads are considered "acceptable" now than in 2015, before these massive hikes began. Who is still falling for this stuff?
We eliminated this year’s inflation on gas tax to give working families some relief at the pump from Donald Trump.

The #WhiteSox are 11-2 in Davis Martin starts. They are 7-4 without Munetaka Murakami. They’ve clinched the series against the best team in baseball without Murakami, C. Montgomery and Teel in the lineup. Baseball’s best story is on the Southside of Chicago.

The Chicago Teachers Union has been telling Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker for months that he should opt out of the federal tax credit for education donations. The union called the program "a scam designed to undermine public education." Compare that to new reporting from the New York Times. "The program does not reduce existing school funding. It is paid for through a federal tax credit." Also: "Public-school parents will be able to spend the funds on after-school tutoring or supplemental special-education services, for example. And public schools can provide some of those extras, though they may need to set up affiliated nonprofits or companies in order to accept the funds." Opting in is a no-brainer.
NEW: Illinois Democrats can unlock $100M in education funding for Chicago—without hiking taxes—thanks to a new federal tax credit program. Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said he “would be crazy” to reject the opportunity. But Illinois leaders haven’t committed yet. And Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates is trying spike the program before a single child can benefit. 🇺🇸 Just a guy who flew 39 combat missions talking to a guy who was machine gunning on D-Day. Greatest Generation. Built Different. 🫡🇺🇸
🇺🇸 Most Badass Ballplayers: Combat Veteran Edition #2 Ted Williams Ted Williams, widely regarded as the greatest pure hitter who ever lived, was one badass ballplayer. Born August 30, 1918, in San Diego, California. He made his major league debut with the Boston Red Sox in 1939 and quickly became one of the most feared hitters in baseball. In 1941, at just 22 years old, he hit .406, the last time any player has hit over .400 in a season. He followed that up by winning another batting title in 1942. By the end of the 1942 season, Williams was already a superstar and widely considered the best hitter in the game. Then, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Williams enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and trained as a pilot. He missed the 1943, 1944, and 1945 seasons, three full prime years of his career, while serving stateside during World War II. When he returned in 1946, there were questions about whether he could pick up where he left off. He answered them immediately, winning the American League MVP award in his first season back. Over the next several years he continued to dominate, winning the Triple Crown in 1947 and another batting title in 1948. When the Korean War broke out, Williams was recalled to active duty as a Marine Corps pilot. In 1952 and 1953 he flew 39 combat missions over North Korea in the F9F Panther jet. He often flew as wingman for future astronaut John Glenn. On one mission his plane was hit by the enemy and caught fire. He made a successful belly landing and jumped out and ran off the wingtip to safety. He was hit by enemy fire at least three times during his tour. After Korea, Williams returned to baseball in 1953 and continued one of the most remarkable careers in baseball history. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966. Ted Williams, superstar athlete, answered the call for his country twice. Thank you, Ted! 🫡🇺🇸⚾

I forgot to post my D-Day joke yesterday, so here it is! 😂 An old veteran was looking through his bag for his passport. The woman on passport control asked him, “Have you visited France before?” “Yes,” replied the old man. Sarcastically she responded, “Well surely you should know to have your passport ready,” to which he answered, “I didn't have to show it last time.” “Impossible!!” she barked. The old man looked her straight in the eye and said, "Last time, when I landed on D-Day in 1944, I couldn't find a dadgum Frenchman to give it to.”

I think what Marist coach Colleen Phelan said about Lway West today needs to be posted: "We are rooting for them. They have a well-coached team, a respectable program. It hurts that we're not playing for the title, but I hope they win their first one." Total ... class ... act.

The Chicago Bears managed to stay in Chicago despite the 1929 Great Depression, WWII, and the 2008 financial crisis, but they couldn't survive two incompetent Democratic leaders in Illinois and now they are moving next door to the Republican run red state of Indiana!
