I feel like a large percentage of people haven't really seen what actual ADHD or autism looks like in adults, and actively underestimate it's effects on people. Doesn't help that it's very literally invisible, unless you are experiencing it

I don't know the details of the 3 women in Brighton, but there's an obvious epidemic of Black people being found in bodies of water in the UK & I actually think stereotypes about our relationship to water is enough to think that ruling these cases 'not suspicious' is suspicious.

This isn't exclusive to biography. In the UK, British imperial history, very much histories of racial slavery, is dominated by white historians. They are rallying up publishing contracts to write about our ancestors too... lots of those books are voyeuristic AF πππ³π³
Why do white male authors overwhelmingly get the opportunity to write biographies of Black icons? There is one coming out penned by a 46-year-old on an icon dating back to the 1940s. The same opportunities aren't extended for Black writers and white icons.
