Do any of my incredibly smart friends want to see if this is true, partially true, or just B.S.
Kimchi has been found to fine-tune immunity at the cellular level. In a groundbreaking human clinical trial, researchers employed cutting-edge single-cell genetic analysis to explore kimchi's impact on the immune system. Over 12 weeks, overweight adults received either a placebo or powder from two varieties of kimchi. The findings show that kimchi not only enhances immune defenses but also promotes their regulation. Scientists from the World Institute of Kimchi observed that participants consuming kimchi exhibited heightened activity in antigen-presenting cells (APCs), which play a key role in identifying pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Simultaneously, CD4 T cells developed a more balanced profile, incorporating both effector cells for fighting threats and regulatory cells to prevent overreactions. This dual effect equips the immune system to mount effective responses while avoiding harmful inflammation. The trial utilized single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), a precise technique that examines gene expression in individual immune cells, uncovering nuanced changes undetectable by standard blood tests. Fermentation method influenced outcomes: both spontaneous and starter-culture kimchi yielded benefits, but the starter version demonstrated superior effects, including enhanced antigen detection and reduced extraneous immune signaling. This represents the world's first clinical demonstration of kimchi's immunomodulatory action at the genetic level, highlighting its promise for managing hyperactive immune conditions. Dr. Jay with some very interesting information. I wonder if this also holds true for more than chemo and immunotherapy (thinking dendritic cell therapy?). Something to consider: youtu.be/6lgsN3vIuHs?si=y8Go…

UPDATE 4/29/26 HI all, Thank you for all the prayers! After a very anxious 48 hours after Leanne's MRI on Monday morning, we received great news that her MRI is looking clear. The most important points: “Decreasing size of the surgical cavity” “Significantly improved edema” (swelling) “Substantially improved enhancement” with only minimal residual “No new or suspicious enhancement” “No restricted diffusion” “No hydrocephalus, hemorrhage, or fluid collection” This is great news but Leanne's blood work is still not in the normal range and her ALC is at .3. Since she is unable to get back on any chemotherapy at this point, I still believe she could have great benefit from Anktiva with NK cell therapy. The best time to do treatments is before reoccurrence. I know these results may not have been possible if we hadn't gone to @MayoClinic for a second opinion. The amazing team of Dr. Bryan Neth (oncology), Dr. Eric Lehrer (radiation oncology), and the amazing surgery by Dr. Ian Parney (neurosurgery). Although there were some bumps in the road, there is no way to thank this amazing team enough. We are also very happy with our oncologist at Northwestern, Dr. Robin Buerki and team. @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @CFSCentral

Hi all, Sorry I haven't been on X a whole lot lately. So much going on and time is now flying by. A big week coming up as Leanne has her second MRI tomorrow morning. We probably won't get the results until Wednesday so that is going to be awful waiting around. If all of you amazing people could pray for a great result I'd really appreciate it. Scanxiety is in full effect.

UPDATE: 3/13/26 Hi all, Well, it has been a rough day for me today. After almost 3 months of digging, I have been told by Northwestern that they do NOT have a frozen sample of the tumor without preservatives. It really has hit me hard because, as of right now, I really don't have much of a road forward unless the tumor comes back. I was hoping to try a dendritic cell therapy but that is just not possible at this time. I'm not sure Leanne will ever be able to take Temozolomide again because of the extreme reaction she has had to it. I cut off most of her hair tonight and I am spiraling. In all honesty, the best road forward now is Anktiva. I appreciate all of the support and prayers from all of you! I need them now more than ever. @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @CFSCentral @DrHarveyRisch

UPDATE: 3/12/2026 Hi all, It's been a minute since I have sent out an update. I would love to thank all of again for sharing Leanne's story and for all the people reaching out and sending me information. I can't thank all of you enough. So, after Leanne's good MRI last month, she continues to struggle with her blood work. She is getting weekly injections to try to bolster them. The trend is up a bit, but not a whole lot. She also continues to lose alot of her hair. She is devasted by this as it is a daily reminder of what is going on. She may shave her head this weekend. I will support her any direction she needs to go to feel better. Leanne's ALC is hovering between .3 and .4 so not great at all. As I continue to research options, ANKTIVA is still on the table as well as dendritic cell therapies. We are working with the hospital right now on trying to figure out if they preserved her tumor tissue correctly for a potential dendritic cell therapy. If you don't know, the tissue must be flash frozen with NO preservatives. It is really unbelievable to me that the medical establishment is recognizing the game changing shift toward immunotherapy but yet, continues to freeze tumor tissue with preservatives. Something needs to change rapidly on this and should be a part of a conversation with the surgeon prior to the surgery. At least give the patients choices that may be incredibly important down the road. I have to mention this past week that a former Chicago Blackhawks player and announcer, Troy Murray (@muzz19) passed away after a several year battle with pancreatic cancer. Troy was an incredibly nice guy. Many years ago, I took my son to a Blackhawks game and Troy was by the radio booth, which is all but in the last row of seats at the United Center. I said hi to him and he had my Son and I come up and chatted with us for a few minutes and signed an autograph. He was just so nice to us and it left an impression that has lasted over a decade. This is just the type of person he was. God Bless you and your family. I hate cancer. Prayers and love to you all! 🙏 @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @CFSCentral @DrHarveyRisch

UPDATE: 2/20/2026 Hi all, I'm sorry I haven't posted yet today. Leanne had an early blood draw and her MRI. We met with her oncologist in the afternoon and then made the 5 hour drive home. Some people are believers in Jesus and the power of prayer while others aren't. I do believe in both, and, after the MRI today, I am more convinced than ever. Today was a good day! I will put the findings at the bottom of the post. It's alot of doctor speak, but, I will tell you that the oncologist was very happy with the results. I can't thank all of you enough for the prayers. The support from all of you has meant a great deal to me. God Bless you all! I will also say this. With the great results, I refuse to sit on my hands and hope it doesn't come back. I am still hoping Leanne can get ANKTIVA. If not, there are still other tools in the tool box. @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @DrHarveyRisch This was the report: FINDINGS: Since 12/1/2025, decreased extent of peripheral enhancement about the operative cavity and decreased small focus of enhancement extending just anterosuperiorly to the operative cavity in the left cerebellar hemisphere and vermis. No new or progressive areas of enhancement. Decreased extent of intrinsic T1 hyperintensity/blood products associated with the operative cavity. Decreased extent of T2 hyperintensity surrounding the operative cavity including decreased T2 hyperintensity in the left cerebellar hemisphere and vermis with decreased associated mass effect and decreased effacement of the fourth ventricle. No diffusion restriction or definite abnormal elevated rCBV. Stable ventricular caliber without hydrocephalus. Old right frontal EVD tract with associated hemosiderin/gliosis, with resolved intrinsic T1 hyperintense blood products since 12/1/2025. Evolving subacute to chronic small right cerebellar hemisphere infarct with nearly resolved enhancement. The fluid collection overlying the suboccipital craniotomy has essentially resolved. Unchanged developmental venous anomalies in the left cerebral hemisphere. IMPRESSION: Decreasing enhancement and associated T2 hyperintensity and mass effect with the left cerebellar glioma, compatible with positive response to treatment. No new/progressive abnormality.

UPDATE: 2/13/2026 Hi all, Leanne is a week out from her new baseline MRI which will take place next week (February 20th) at Mayo. We are nervous and scared. Leanne continues to have issues with her blood work but is finally getting some help from the medical teams involved (Northwestern mostly). I have had some serious issues with the way Mayo has handled this as I have been asking them for a plan since January 9th when her numbers fell off a cliff. I'm not a doctor but I can look at a chart and see trends. It has taken some time to get some traction but Leanne will be getting weekly shots of NPLATE until her platelets get back to the normal range (they have stabilized at 23) , Neulasta (Neupogen) every two weeks until her numbers come up (she had a shot on Wednesday and she went from 1.7 to 5.9 so that may be a one and done, and still waiting for approval for the Epogen for her red blood cells (she is up to 2.35 from 2.14). Hearing @DrPatrick talk about the @US_FDA just makes you wonder what is really going on and if anything will ever change. How many people have to die before someone does something about it? Hasn't anyone if your family EVER had cancer? The administration needs to step up or get out of the way. We lost another great soul this week with the passing of James Van Der Beek. Praying for his family, it's just awful. Again, I want to thank all of you for sharing Leanne's story and for caring so much! I really do appreciate all of you and I am always on the quest for more information. There are other options out there, ANKTIVA being a great one. I would also say this, please have a backup plan should ANKTIVA not be approved. @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @DrHarveyRisch

UPDATE: 2/6/2026 HI all, Well, it's been another not so great week. Leanne's blood work continues to look bad. ALC is .3, platelets are at 12. I had a very lengthy conversation with her oncologist at Mayo an they are going to be prescribing NPLATE for her platelet and probably Neupogen as well. ANKTIVA could also be an option. You always have to fight and advocate for your loved ones when it comes to health care. Even at a place like Mayo, they aren't always on top of things. The administration needs to stop talking and start taking action. With all of the things that we have all been exposed to the past almost 6 years, ANKTIVA should be a standard part of treatment for alot of illnesses to help our immune systems. It will be 2 weeks from today (2/20) that Leanne will have her first MRI since her radiation and chemo. We are nervous and scared. I also want to acknowledge that the world has lost another great soul in Chris Olsen (@gregolsen88 Greg Olsen's brother) to glioblastoma yesterday. He was only 42 years old and was diagnosed at the end of March last year. RIP Chris and God Bless your family. @DrPatSoonShiong @DrMakaryFDA @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego @DrHarveyRisch

UPDATE: 1/29/2026 I want to thank everyone who has shared Leanne's story, commented on the post, and reached out to me. I really can't thank you enough. Leanne is finally home after being in the hospital since Monday afternoon. Her blood work continues to be an issue. The doctor's performed a bone marrow biopsy and we have yet to see the results. At least they are looking to ensure that there isn't something else going on. It still makes me extremely nervous and panicked. She was given several shots of Granix which is supposed to help with production of white blood cells. I will say the count did go up a little which is encouraging. Definitely need ANKTIVA Bioshield as Leanne's immune system has been completely destroyed by radiation and chemo. Standard of care is a complete joke. All of the billions of dollars that have been spent on "curing" cancer have just gone into more research on how to maintain the status quo. They aren't trying to "cure" anything. They are trying to slow it down Cytostatic is bullshit! Stop dragging your feet @MartyMakary @US_FDA @RobertKennedyJr Stop getting on X and saying you are going to do something. UPDATE: 1/26/2026 Hi all, I wish I had good news to report but I don't. Leanne continues to have really bad blood work and has been admitted to the hospital. If anyone has any suggestions on things that you know of that help with bad blood work, I'm all ears. I am just not doing very well mentally right now. Watching her go through this is taking a very heavy toll on me. Definitely need ANKTIVA Bioshield. UPDATE: 1/21/2026 Hi all, Leanne finished up radiation and chemo yesterday. We are finally home and, unfortunately, I'm sick, blah. She had to have a total of 3 platelet transfusions in her last 2 weeat Mayo. It was very difficult to watch her go through all of this. It would be great if the administration would stop dragging their feet on approving ANKTIVA Bioshield for cancer patients. Every day that goes by, more people are being denied the right to try. Please keep on doing your research if you are in this horrible situation. In trying to deal with everything that is going on, I always come back to this song. It's so powerful and especially this version as Bart Millard explains why he wrote the song. When you are feeling broken, you have to find something that is going to try to help you pick up the pieces and get back in the battle. This song and this version has helped me a bit today and I've been crying my eyes out for the last half hour. UPDATE: 1/14/26 Hi everyone, I want to thank all of you who have reached out and shared Leanne's story. So this last week has been pretty crappy. Leanne's platelets after way down, 6 being the lowest. She has had 2 platelet transfusions and just got a shot of NPlate which is supposed to help signal the bone marrow to produce more platelets. With her low platelet count, her chemo was stopped over a week and a half ago. Her blood work hasn't been great with an ALC of .33. I have hit a wall and feel like my mind is broken. I started having panic attacks on Monday and they are continuing. I just feel lost and no where near the person I used to be. I wish I had a better update to share but this is where we are at. Still hoping for the tide to turn. @MartyMakary @US_FDA @realDonaldTrump @RobertKennedyJr @LoriMills4CA42 @ChiayuChenMD @bullishbruk @ImmunityBio @richadcock @pdsandiego
