the built-in dictation app on @raycast is so good! I'm wondering which model they're using or if they are streaming the input in real time to something like @ElevenLabs

it's totally possible to have a good software without hundreds of features and weekly updates

Amazonia has a new logo, and it’s a masterpiece. The letters were extracted from satellite images of the river itself

you probably won't fully understand how big is the leap from react 18 to 19 in terms of async stuff until you get used to the 19's way and get back to work on a codebase that is still on 18

"let me check if this flag is enabled before fetching any data" nope "let me pass this promise as a prop and await for it to be resolved in the child instead" nope "let me just fetch some data without useEffect" nope

If you are struggling with identity crisis in tech right now, I cannot urge you enough to log out of this website for a week The lie that you have to stay up to date with every headline and latest tool destroys my ability to be curious, and I imagine it does for others

took me a long time to accept "if it does the job it's good" and now I realized that not having this mindset just hold me back
Replying to @dayvsterdev
I don't think of it that way. It does a good job with good code and good prompts. I also recognized early in my career everybody hates everybody else's code, even their own with enough time, so I've never been very concerned about subjectivity in code. If it does the thing it's good.
