Today I am so incredibly excited to share with you a new tool from the lab, #RFviewJS (and its stand-alone version #RFview). Two tools I built to fill a gap that has frustrated me for years. #RNA secondary structure visualization (1/n)

1/ Excited to share our new paper in PNAS! 🌱 How does a plant decide which RNA isoform to make? We show that Arabidopsis SF1 rewires 3′ splice-site choice in vivo, shaping alternative splicing programs that impact both the circadian clock and immunity. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.25…

Proud to be part of this collaboration with such an amazing team! We investigated how food acts not just as nutrition but as a carrier of stable informational molecules. Findings show human milk sRNAs can modulate cellular stress responses.
Human milk contains a previously underappreciated layer of stable extracellular RNAs. Our new study in non-coding RNA @MDPIOpenAccess explores their abundance, stability, and biological activity under stress. doi.org/10.3390/ncrna1201000…

Among the pioneers in discovering and characterizing light sensing and physiological responses in bacterial chemotrophic pathogens such as Acinetobacter baumannii, we now show that these microorganisms exhibit light-modulated circadian rhythms. rdcu.be/eIQzL

Riboswitches are super cool and the next frontier in RNA therapeutics !
#Guanidine was known since the 1870s to affect muscle function. Vertebrates have guanidine-sensing #riboswitch RNAs linked to genes relevant to muscle disorders, including some for Ca2 signaling and others relevant to #ataxia symptoms. @NatureComms nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Happy to share that our lab got funded through Spain’s PID2024 call!! We'll be exploring how RNA structure, not just sequence, shapes lncRNA function across evolution. Congrats to those selected, and strength to those who weren’t in this highly competitive process.
#FondoEuropeoDeDesarrolloRegional #FondoSocialEuropeoPlus
