The film handles Clark really well: he's objectively a terrible person and nobody pretends otherwise, but because the worst of it happened in the past and you don't see it, he just seems like a normal guy in a tough spot, and you're rooting for him to get out and get better
I really like Clark
I related to his personal self loathing and affliction for an environment in which he can live in disparity rather than commit to change for the better, it made me want to root for him to take accountability even though he’s not at all a good person
