Kalama's first-born daughter, just under a year old. 2. Sities and Sunni. Sunni came along last March. 3. Loijuk with Lili and Lisha. Lili is six, Lisha is three. Far from just being a bush school where older orphaned elephants return to the wild, our Ithumba Reintegration Unit is fast turning into a creche as ex-orphans we rescued years ago bring their families home! I worked in our local pub in the early 80s and one of my jobs on a Saturday morning was making the cheese and onion rolls. But these are badly made. The cheese is too thick (the landlady would have bollocked me for using that much cheese) and the onions are not sliced properly.

He was a senior social worker. Child protection was his job... Richard Ford spent months online asking to meet children as young as seven for sex. He thought he was talking to real parents. He wasn't, they were undercover officers. But his intentions were real. When police searched his home they found 913 indecent images of children on his devices. Over 250 were the most serious category possible. And a real child had already been assaulted. Three times. He got five years. Pembrokeshire County Council says the offences weren't committed during his employment. That may be true. It doesn't change what he is. It doesn't change what he knew about how child protection systems work. It doesn't change the fact that his job title would have made him one of the last people a parent would suspect.
