Arwa Elrayess, the first Palestinian president of the Oxford Union, successfully survived a motion of no confidence after it failed to reach the required 150 signatures, gathering only 126 valid signatures out of the necessary threshold.
Arwa has faced a pro-Israel campaign of incitement and accusations related to alleged WhatsApp messages about the events of October 7th, which she denied and said were taken out of context.
She stated that the targeting was motivated by her Palestinian identity.
